Types & Benefits of Membership

Membership to STAC is open to all individuals, teams, clubs and associations that adhere to the Membership Code of Conduct Statement. There are now several levels of STAC membership. The following tables and information below it outline the Benefits granted to each level. FREE STAC INDIVIDUAL & SCHOOL MEMBER:

Any individual or school can register online with STAC and gain the base level benefits associated with being a Free Member. STAC understands that schools are central to the expansion of Sepak Takraw as a sport in Canada, since many children are first exposed to a variety of sports in the school system. With a successful school program, local Sepak Takraw clubs and recreational leagues will pop up.

STAC is equipped to help certify coaches and officials for Sepak Takraw programs as schools/clubs play other schools/clubs in other districts. As well, STAC acts as an important resource for schools to connect with other schools/clubs/teams in their area to further the interest in Sepak Takraw by Canadian children and youth.

STAC TEAM MEMBER, $60/team/year (of up to 5 players):

The Team Membership category is for small numbers of individuals (up to 5) who want to enjoy the sport of Sepak Takraw along with four additional benefits, including participation eligibility in STAC-affiliated events. This membership type is perfect for a few friends who want to play the sport but have no nearby club or school to become a part of, so it’s great for starting out, and includes the following benefits:

2. Access to Useful FREE Information/Download Pages;
3. 15% Discount off of Uninterrupted Annual Membership Renewal;
4. 10% Discount off of Sepak Takraw Products from STAC;
5. 1 Free Takraw Ball of Choice from STAC each year;
6. Eligibility to Participate in STAC Coaching & Refereeing Clinics, play in tournaments, etc.

Teams will find that interest in the sport grows as they spawn new teams in the area, and there are four more REWARD BENEFITS for individuals on teams who recruit other individuals that form new paid Team Members. The ‘Reward Benefits’ are FREE Sepak Takraw Products from STAC as indicated below.

ADDITIONAL ‘TEAM MEMBER’ REWARD BENEFITS,

FREE PROCUCTS FOR RECRUITING OTHER PAID ‘TEAM MEMBERS’:

If there are 5 individuals/players on a ‘Team Member’ that pays $60/year, that’s only $12/person for TEN great benefits from STAC … you sure can’t go wrong with that!

STAC CLUB 1 MEMBER, $200/club/year (of up to 20 players):

As appealing as Team Membership is for individuals/players, many cultural groups, recreational organizations, multiple teams in the same area, or even businesses may find that Club Membership best suit their needs. Club 1 Membership is ideal for groups of UP TO 20 INDIVIDUALS. Where Team Members recruit other Team Members and develop into 3 or 4 regular teams, it is cheaper and more beneficial for all the individuals to simply register as a Club 1 Member. The specific benefits of Club 1 Membership are:

2. Access to Useful FREE Information/Download Pages;
3. 20% Discount off of Uninterrupted Annual Membership Renewal;
4. 15% Discount off of Sepak Takraw Products from STAC;

STAC CLUB 2 MEMBER, $400/club/year (of more than 20 players):

Once a Club gets more than 20 registered participants, they then become a Club 2 Member, with the additional benefit being INSURANCE under STAC, which is a HUGE benefit, as insurance for a sports club is typically a minimum of $2000 … it is worth it even for Clubs of just 3 teams to become Club 2 Members for this benefit alone. Other benefits are higher discounts and more equipment to boot; altogether, the following are the specific Club 2 Membership Benefits:

3. 25% Discount off of Uninterrupted Annual Membership Renewal;
4. 20% Discount off of Sepak Takraw Products from STAC;

9. Insurance for their Association through STAC;
10. Sport Development Grant from STAC (formula driven, based in large part on number of registered participants).

STAC ASSOCIATION MEMBER, Formula Driven Fee (> 6 Clubs in > 3 districts):

As more and more clubs form in the same city or region, it eventually an overall District, then Provincial Association to manage the competitions between all the Clubs will be inevitable, as has been the case in Saskatchewan with the formation of Sepak Takraw Saskatchewan Inc. in 2009. A STAC Association Member pays higher fee, but along with even higher discounts and more equipment from STAC, they also receive money or a grant from STAC for sport development (the amount of which is formula driven, disclosed to the applicable association). Therefore the overall Benefits for a STAC Association Member are:

3. Formula Driven Discount off of Uninterrupted Annual Membership Renewal;
4. 25% Discount off of Sepak Takraw Products from STAC;
